The Canlis Brothers invite you.
Passionate about wine? Spell 'whisky' without an 'e'? Maybe you collect it...maybe you even have a cellar. Well this is our invitation to dive into ours. Not the restaurant's cellar, but our personal family collection. The Canlis brothers discovered their own passion for whisky on a misty mountain-biking expedition in the Scottish Highlands. One morning, while camping on Loch Awe not far from Kilchurn Castle, our supplies had dwindled to smoky bacon and Edradrour single malt. It was a fortunate mistake, which resulted in our annual Whisky and Bacon Breakfast. We have been collecting rare single malts ever since, bringing them home, one bottle at a time, tucked safely away in the overhead compartment.
But the society is about wine too. Every summer the Canlis family picks a wine region of the world and dives in. We travel, taste and carry home treasures for our cellar. Oregon hosted us one year, and we came back with not only wonderful pinot but also its sparkling sibling. Often it's been France: in the past few years Burgundy and Alsace and Sancerre. There were two weeks in Tuscany, and before that a focus on Spain, and even Walla Walla! What we've brought home is here offered for the first time as our personal list, to be shared only with society members.
So what is the society exactly? Your $300 annual membership includes:
- Access to exclusive "Society Only" events. Twice a year, we'll plan a wine or whisky maker dinner exclusive to society members. Trust us, these should not be missed.
- A Society Only newsletter that grants early reservations for all wine events. Did you miss the Leonetti dinner because you were late signing up? Never again.
- Service with Wine & Whisky Society Riedel stems. Society members will always be served their wine and whisky in beautifully etched, custom Riedel stems. Furthermore, we'll create a custom glass, etched with your member number, that we'll store at the restaurant until you're ready for a dram. Member numbers are given out chronologically. Who has #001? Eldest brother Matt Canlis.
- Access to the Society Wine and Whisky List. This is where it really gets exciting. Society members will be offered an exclusive list when they dine. The list contains outstanding wines and exceptionally rare whiskys unavailable to anyone else. This is your chance to dive deep into the secrets of our cellar.
- Society benefits extend to members plus a guest!
