An Old-Fashioned Tradition

Going back as far as anyone can remember, the Canlis family has attached an almost sacred meaning to the simple act of dining together. Parents taught their children that the dinner table was the center of everything—and so it became. Dining together was seen as a way to connect, reflect, and focus on the priorities in life: our relationships with family and friends.

This deep-rooted impulse to gather around a single table and serve one another has remained the driving force within our family. Choosing the freshest food, preparing the communal meal, joining in conversations that linger on into the night—it's a routine we cherish, and a response to life we couldn't resist even if we tried.

Today, only the scale has changed. Instead of one table, we serve three dozen more. Yet the approach, the purpose, the intention is the same. When guests join us for dinner, they become part of the Canlis tradition. We wouldn't have it any other way.
